Coils and Tanks

A vape tank is the part of your device that holds the e-liquid and houses the coil. The coil is a small heating element inside the tank that vaporises the e-liquid when you press the fire button. In simple terms, the tank stores your liquid, and the coil does the work of turning it into vapour.

Most coils last between 1 and 3 weeks, depending on how often you vape, your wattage settings, and the type of e-liquid you use. When you start noticing a burnt taste, muted flavour, or less vapour, it’s time for a change. Regular coil replacements keep your vape tasting fresh and performing smoothly.

Before using a new coil, it’s important to prime it to avoid burning it out. To do this, add a few drops of e-liquid directly onto the cotton through the coil’s holes, then fill your tank and let it sit for 5–10 minutes. This allows the cotton to fully absorb the liquid so it’s ready to vape without a dry hit.

Compatibility depends on your vape brand and model. Most coils are designed for specific tanks and devices, for example, SMOK coils fit SMOK tanks, and Voopoo coils work with Voopoo kits. Always check your device’s product description or manual for compatible coil series before purchasing replacements.

To keep your tank performing at its best, clean it every 1–2 weeks by rinsing with warm water (without the coil) and drying thoroughly before refilling. Avoid overtightening the tank onto your device and check seals regularly to prevent leaks. A clean, well-maintained tank gives you better flavour, vapour, and coil longevity.
