Our Hands-On Review of OXVA's Latest Pod Kit

The original OXVA NeXlim quickly became one of our favourite refillable pod kits thanks to its impressive flavour, reliable performance and ease of use. It was one of those rare devices that appealed just as much to experienced vapers as it did to people making the switch from disposable vapes.

With the arrival of the OXVA NeXlim 2, OXVA hasn't tried to reinvent a winning formula. Instead, it's refined almost every part of the experience. A larger 2000mAh battery, faster charging, upgraded Unitech 3.0 pod technology and improved airflow all promise to make an already excellent pod kit even better.

NeXlim 2: First Impressions

The first thing we noticed is how familiar the  feels. If you've used the original device before, you'll pick this one up and feel at home almost immediately. The overall design remains sleek and compact, but everything feels a little more refined.

Despite the larger battery, it still slips comfortably into a pocket and feels lightweight enough to carry all day. The colour screen is bright, easy to read and gives the device a more premium feel without becoming overcomplicated.

What's New Compared to the Original OXVA NeXlim?

The improvements may look modest on paper, but together they make a noticeable difference in everyday use. The biggest upgrade is the move to a 2000mAh battery, giving the NeXlim 2 significantly more stamina than its predecessor. Combined with 3A fast charging, it means less time plugged in and more time vaping.

OXVA has also introduced Unitech 3.0 technology to the NeXlim pod range. The updated dual mesh design promises improved flavour consistency, better leak resistance and longer pod life, while remaining fully compatible with existing NeXlim pods.

We also like the addition of Eco Mode and Power Mode. Eco Mode helps stretch battery life when you're away from a charger, while Power Mode gives you a warmer, more flavourful vape when that's your priority. Our Experience Using the NeXlim 2

Flavour Performance

If flavour is your priority, the NeXlim 2 continues to set an incredibly high standard. The dual mesh NeXlim pods already ranked among our favourites, and the updated Unitech 3.0 technology builds on that reputation. Flavours feel clean, well-defined and remarkably consistent, even after extended use.

Whether we were testing fruit nic salts or classic menthol blends, the flavour remained crisp from the first refill through to the last. This is one of those devices where you immediately notice the difference after switching from a cheaper pod kit. The flavour feels fuller without becoming overpowering.

Battery Life

The larger battery is probably the most noticeable everyday improvement. The original NeXlim was already reliable, but the extra capacity means the NeXlim 2 comfortably lasts a full day for most vapers, even when using higher wattages.

If you tend to vape at lower power levels or spend more time in Eco Mode, you'll likely find yourself charging even less frequently. The fast charging is equally impressive. Going from low battery to fully charged in around 50 minutes means you're rarely left waiting.

Pods & Coil Performance

The NeXlim 2 includes both a 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω pod, giving you the flexibility to enjoy either a slightly airier Restricted Direct To Lung vape or a tighter Mouth To Lung draw.

The 0.6Ω pod is ideal if you enjoy warmer vapour and a little more cloud production, while the 0.8Ω pod strikes an excellent balance between flavour, vapour and battery efficiency. There's also a 1.2Ω NeXlim pod available separately for anyone who prefers a tighter cigarette-style inhale. One of the biggest advantages is that existing OXVA NeXlim Pods remain fully compatible, making upgrading simple if you're already invested in the NeXlim platform.

Airflow & Customisation

The adjustable airflow gives plenty of flexibility without becoming overly complicated. Closing the airflow creates a satisfying MTL draw that works brilliantly with nic salts, while opening it up allows for a looser RDTL vape with noticeably more vapour production.

The Smart Mode also deserves a mention. It automatically selects an appropriate wattage for the installed pod, making the device especially beginner-friendly while still allowing experienced users to fine-tune their settings.

Who Is the OXVA NeXlim 2 Best For?

A Few Things to Consider

The NeXlim 2 is difficult to fault, but there are a couple of points worth mentioning.

• The 0.6Ω pod naturally uses more e-liquid when vaping towards the top of its recommended wattage range, so heavier RDTL users may find themselves refilling more often. 

• While the screen themes are a nice touch, they're unlikely to influence your buying decision. Most people will spend far more time appreciating the flavour and battery life than changing visual effects.

Is It Worth Upgrading From the Original OXVA NeXlim?

If your original NeXlim is still performing perfectly, there's no immediate need to replace it. However, if you're buying a new pod kit today or your current device is starting to show its age, we'd choose the NeXlim 2 every time.

The larger battery, faster charging and improved pod performance make the overall experience feel more polished, while retaining everything that made the original such a success.

Instead, it's focused on meaningful upgrades that improve day-to-day vaping without changing what people already loved.

The bigger battery has been the standout improvement for us, but it's the combination of small refinements that really makes the difference. Better pod performance, faster charging and familiar, easy-to-use controls all add up to a device that feels more complete.
